While Wisconsin still struggles to fully implement and see positive results from Act 31 of 1989, attempts to pass a similar bill related to Hmong History and culture has failed to become law.
School boards and administrators across the state have unfortunately been the greatest opponents when the Wisconsin Legislature introduces a bill to include Hmong history and culture into curriculum. A better understanding of how to infuse these topics is needed to assure opponents that such a law will not hinder teachers and will, in fact, enhance the outcomes of student learning.
